Iliopsoas tendon release

When persistent iliopsoas tendonitis after hip replacement does not settle with physiotherapy, medication and image-guided injection, tendon release may be considered.

Angus performs this through a small incision in the groin. Releasing the tight or irritated tendon can reduce sharp groin pain and make lifting the leg easier. Some patients use crutches briefly; many return to desk work within about a week, with improvement continuing over several months.
