Total hip replacement — posterior approach
The posterior approach uses an incision at the back of the hip. It provides excellent visibility of the joint, accurate access for implant positioning and reliable long-term results.
It may be preferred for complex anatomy, some patients with previous surgery, and situations where broader surgical access is required. Angus will explain why a particular approach is recommended.
