Revision hip replacement

Revision surgery removes and replaces part or all of a previous artificial hip that has loosened, worn out, become infected, dislocated repeatedly or been affected by fracture.

It is more complex than a first hip replacement and may require specialist modular or 3D-printed implants, bone grafting and reconstruction of lost bone. Recovery can take longer, but revision surgery can relieve pain, restore stability and improve function.
