When can I drive?
Do not drive on the day of surgery or for at least 24 hours after a general anaesthetic. You must also be free from the impairing effects of opioid or other sedating medication.
Before driving, you must be able to enter and exit the vehicle comfortably, sit safely, see adequately, control the steering wheel and pedals, and perform a sudden emergency stop without pain, weakness or hesitation. You are responsible for being fit to drive and should check any requirements with your insurer.
