The recovery unit
After the operation you will be transferred to the Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). It is normal to feel sleepy or groggy as the anaesthetic wears off.
Recovery nurses will monitor breathing, pulse, blood pressure, comfort and the surgical area. Oxygen may be given through a soft mask or nasal tubing. Tell the nurses if you feel pain or nausea so they can treat it.
