Exercise and physiotherapy
Walking and the exercises provided by your physiotherapist are the main focus early in recovery. Exercises commonly include controlled hip movement and standing hip abduction while holding a stable surface.
Progress should be steady rather than rushed. Do not force through significant pain. Most people gradually reduce their use of crutches as comfort, strength and walking quality improve.
