Wound care

Keep the dressing in place for the period advised by the hospital and follow the discharge instructions about showering and dressing changes. Do not apply creams or lotions to a healing wound unless asked.

Contact the practice or your GP if redness, pain, swelling or discharge is increasing, or if you develop a fever.
