Pain, sleep and daily activities

Take prescribed pain relief as directed, particularly before exercises and sleep. Sleeping semi-upright or supported by pillows can be more comfortable initially.

Keep frequently used items within easy reach and ask for help with dressing, meals, driving and household work while the arm is protected. Do not drive while a sling is required or until you can safely control the vehicle and perform an emergency manoeuvre.
