When to contact the practice
- Increasing redness, heat or drainage from the wound
- Temperature above 38°C
- Pain that is worsening rather than gradually settling
- New numbness, marked swelling or colour change in the hand
- A fall, sudden pull or other event that may have stressed the repair
- Shortness of breath or chest pain
