When to contact the practice

  • Increasing redness, heat or drainage from the wound
  • Temperature above 38°C
  • Pain that is worsening rather than gradually settling
  • New numbness, marked swelling or colour change in the hand
  • A fall, sudden pull or other event that may have stressed the repair
  • Shortness of breath or chest pain
