LCL and posterolateral corner surgery

Injuries to the LCL and posterolateral corner are complex. A fresh tear pulled from bone may be repairable if treated promptly. Chronic or multi-ligament instability usually requires reconstruction of the damaged stabilising structures using tendon grafts.

Careful assessment and planning are important because these structures control both sideways and rotational stability.
