Partial meniscectomy

When a meniscus tear cannot heal or be repaired, the unstable damaged portion can be trimmed through keyhole surgery. As much healthy meniscus as possible is preserved.

This can relieve mechanical pain, clicking or locking. Recovery is generally quicker than after repair, with many patients returning to light activities within 2–3 weeks.
